Wine
● The vines are going into dormancy and losing their gorgeous autumn leaves before winter hits.
● We are preparing for the bottling process of our new wines next month. This involves ordering bottles, caps and labels. We spent a lot of time designing our labels, which now include more information about our wines and flowers and new illustrations from James Giddy.
Flowers
● We made our first sale of Leucodendrons, Blushing Bride and Tallerac this month. Unfortunately, our plants are all still quite small thus limiting our harvests, especially as the weather cools and growth slows.
● We are still planting out the remainder of our flower farm with some interesting eucalypt and more banksia species.
● We attended our first Wildflower of WA AGM in Moora and met a lot of northern growers, which gave us great insight into the industry.
● We did a seed propagating course at Kings Park, which was very enjoyable. I learnt a lot.
Sheep
● Our first lambs were born, and our ewes look great with the slow transition to greener pastures and cooler weather.
● We are currently planting oats and barley for summer sheep feed.
